Overview

Our contest is open to amateur photographers only (all ages). All photographs must be taken in SW Florida (Lee, Collier, Charlotte, and Hendry counties) between April 1, 2024, and March 31, 2025, with an emphasis on native, naturally occurring flora and fauna (such as birds, animals, insects, plants, and scenery).

Entries & Deadlines

Entries will be accepted through April 15, 2025, with awards to be announced by June 31, 2025. All photos must be submitted via e-mail to ASWFPhotoContest@gmail.com Your e-mail entry must include your name, mailing, and e-mail address. Each image must be in .jpg format with a maximum file size of 6 MB per image.

Awards

The overall Best in Show will receive $200. The top three runner ups will each be awarded $100.  Each person is eligible to win only one award.

Entry Fee

A $25 per person entry fee covers up to five photos and includes a 2025 calendar-year membership in our local chapter,  Audubon of Southwest Florida. You may pay online, clicking the payment button below.

Judging

Judging will be anonymous via coded entries – please do not put anything identifying yourself on your photo or in the file name. Judging will be based on -

• originality

• technical excellence

• appropriateness to Audubon's mission

 

All photos may be used by ASWF in any way including member communications, programs, and meetings such as our environmental breakfast and annual meeting.
